TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Junior/Intermediate Civil Designer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a long term contract position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.
Salary Range: $40-60/hour
Responsibilities:
Create 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings with moderate complexity.
Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation from various disciplines to ensure compliance with project requirements, actively resolving discrepancies.
Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
Adhere to industry codes, standards, and department procedures.
Fulfill other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of combined education and directly related experience.
5-10 years of experience using CAD software like Microstation and in Civil CAD modeling using tools like Inroads.
Accredited one (1) or two (2) year degree or diploma in civil engineering drafting and technology or equivalent in a technical field.
Effective communication skills with diverse audiences, including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
Job-related technical knowledge.
Ability to understand and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
Strong attention to detail and efficient time management.
Demonstrated expertise in civil site grading, cut and fill, underground utilities, and water management catchment systems (storm and sanitary).
Familiarity with commercial material availability and costs.
Proficiency in word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.
