TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Material Handling Designer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a long-term contract position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.

Salary Range: $75-$85/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Produce 2D CAD drawings of moderate complexity.
• Integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into designs.
• Engage in model reviews using a 3D review platform and develop 3D models of moderate complexity.
• Generate estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports.
• Design assigned projects, creating 3D layouts or 2D drawings of moderate complexity to assist the Design Area Lead.
• Examine vendor equipment documentation of basic complexity within the discipline and across other disciplines for project compliance, and actively resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to project drawing standards for 3D layouts and design drawings.

Qualifications:

• Accredited two-year degree or equivalent, plus ten years of relevant experience, or twelve years of combined education and experience if non-degreed.
• Basic knowledge of Microstation, Intergraph SmartPlant Review, and 3D modeling software (Intergraph SP3D), with practical field experience.
• Advanced knowledge of 2D CAD systems and procedures.
• Intermediate knowledge of 3D CAD systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of mining material handling equipment: crushers, conveyors, screens, and loading/unloading systems.
• Intermediate skills in word processing, email, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Experience in preparing platework drawings.
• Effective communication skills with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
• Experience in preparing equipment, outline drawings and layouts.
