Our client, an international consultancy specializing in performing Risk, Safety and Reliability studies are seeking a Senior Safety and Risk Engineer to join their team.

They work in the following industries: Oil and Gas (upstream, midstream and downstream), Clean Energy, Renewables, Transportation and Power industries.

They offer cost effective consultancy services worldwide for operational assets and through all phases of engineering from Conceptual studies through Detailed Design Engineering support to Decommissioning activities.
Their core skills are in Technical Safety, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Risk Management, Asset Integrity and Operational Assurance.

Job Description
There is a requirement for a full time Senior CFD Engineer to lead and carry out CFD project activities, as well as to support the growth of the CFD group globally.
A summary of the key responsibilities is presented below:
o Lead and act as the project manager for a diverse array of CFD services (i.e. ensure project delivery on quality, time and budget).
o Perform any CFD-related works globally as required.
o Be responsible for client facing and communication.
o Be responsible for the overall performance, content and quality of all CFD-related works.
o Develop and maintain procedures and methodologies for all CFD services.
o Develop new CFD capabilities / services.
o Mentor new CFD engineers and train staff from other offices in CFD.
o Act as the direct line manager of several CFD engineers (i.e. perform appraisal and review, support career development, etc.).
o Contribute if required to other Risk & Safety services (e.g. QRA, FERA, EERA, etc.).
o Assist UK Operation Manager with project planning, commercial activities (e.g. proposals, pre-qualifications and focal contact point for key clients) and administrative duties where necessary.
o Act as the focal point between the CFD group and the consultancy teams  to maximize the use and promotion of CFD.
o Support the business strategy, development and marketing to expand the CFD services (e.g. by performing lunch and learn presentations, by participating to conferences, by publishing papers, etc.).
o Identify new business opportunities within CFD for offering differentiated solutions and innovations to the Oil and Gas and other industries.

Essential Skills & Experience
• Relevant degree (e.g. Chemical, Process or Aeronautical Engineering Degree). Ideally, candidate will have a second degree and / or Chartered Engineer status.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CFD for the Oil and Gas industry.
• Proficient in the use of industry standard CFD software, in particular FLACS, but also ANSYS, Star-CCM+, KFX, etc.
• Strong understanding of risk and safety studies, e.g. QRA, FERA, etc.
• Experience of programming and implementation of algorithms and providing enhancement.
• Ability to work well under pressure and independently as well as an all-rounder.
• Strong written and spoken English skills. Ideally, candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent report writing.
• Self-motivated thinker able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
• Confident in presenting in front of clients (existing or new).
• Willingness to occasionally travel to international locations as part of a project.
