Civil Design Supervisor

TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for a Civil Design Supervisor role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.

Responsibilities:
 

• Verify designs against project specifications and design criteria.
• Oversee and mentor project designers in creating 3D models of earthworks with OpenRoads and underground utility models using SmartPlant S3D.
• Ensure adherence to project quality standards through appropriate cross-checking.
• Formulate the most cost-efficient overall project plan for executing design tasks.
• Manage the creation of complex 2D CAD drawings by project designers.
• Set up, track, and monitor bulk and key material quantity estimates.
• Create schedules for deliverables, determine staffing needs, and prepare progress reports, including workforce projections. 
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:
 

• Holds a minimum two-year degree in a relevant field and 15 years of experience.
• Intermediate skills in computer and software applications, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations.
• Practical field experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
• Technical knowledge necessary for the job, including CAD drafting and modeling.
• Understanding of commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of relevant local, province, and national statutes and guidelines.
• Capable of performing civil design in areas such as:
  • Underground utilities
  • Access road and infrastructure
  • Water supply and transportation
  • Plant site development earthwork
  • Storm drainage management
