DUTIES:
• Be the civil/structural responsible engineer for the upgrade upland and marine structures scope
• Report to Manager on scope priorities, design solutions and status on schedule & cost within the discipline
• Liaise with and report to the Project Civil Lead on technical matters related to the discipline
• Liaise and coordinate technical requirements from Site End Users (WTG staging/installation Teams, Preparations for Operations Team, Electrical Infrastructure/Export Cable responsible Teams
• Supervise and coordinate all matters within the civil and onshore structural disciplines for the following main areas:
o Site development of the upland part including pavement, utilities, and other infrastructure
o Waterfront port upgrades; bulkhead replacement and new wharf
o Pile supported crane foundations and heavy load areas
• Contribute to planning, cost estimation and executing of civil engineering and construction scope
• Provide input to contract preparation and procurement activities for ongoing and future project phases within own discipline (e.g. Invitation to Tender process and technical requirements)
• Actively follow up risk management in Company’s systems
Engineering phase:
• Active involvement with the Design Contractors to define technical solutions within the scope and follow up civil related issues in studies as well as maturation of deliveries within the civil disciplines by:
o Secure technically optimized and safe solutions
o Ensure documented quality of supplier’s deliverables
o Provide technical input as required for the consenting process for the site o Ensure dialogue and coordination with the geotechnical, electrical, and other relevant interfacing disciplines and contribute to resolving interface issues
Construction phase:
• Follow up Construction Contractor(s) within compliance to engineered solutions, structural and geotechnical capacities/calculations, quality of final calculations.
• Follow up Construction Contractor(s) on site to ensure deliverables in line with scope of work, quality, HSE, cost, and schedule.
• During execution, support construction field engineers and take responsibility for decisions within own discipline, f. ex. inter disciplinary input, handling of site queries (SQs) and non-conformance requests (NCRs), technical queries (TQs) and variation order requests (VORs).
• Plan and execute follow-up activities e.g. verifications and site inspections
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within front end and detailed engineering
• Previous documented work with civil structures, preferably also marine structures and ports
• Experience from follow-up of construction and/or completion phases
• Good knowledge of working with risk management systems
• Knowledge of relevant US regulations and industry design codes
• University degree/Master of science or equivalent within civil and/or structural faculties
• Registrations Licensed Professional Engineer, New York State
