Our client is an industry leader that has successfully performed a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects across Canada.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow and promote health, safety, environmental, and sustainability guidelines.
- Manage the upkeep and use of equipment on-site, ensuring it is returned to storage or rental services when no longer needed.
- Act as the primary coordinator for activities within an active construction zone.
- Assist project and construction management teams in planning and employing effective methods for all construction activities.
- Assess situations, predict potential issues, evaluate practical solutions, and implement appropriate actions.
- Recruit and supervise hourly workers in collaboration with the Project Manager and handle the approval and submission of detailed timecards for job costing.
- Organize and oversee the tasks of construction personnel according to engineered plans, available tools, equipment, and materials to meet deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Possessing a Gold Seal Certification or a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial.
- 5-10 years of experience.
- Experience in infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects.
- In-depth understanding of contemporary construction practices.
- Ability to comprehend and implement local regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Competence in planning and managing project schedules effectively.
- A Class 5 driver’s license is required
