TRS Staffing are pleased to announce the opportunity for a Communications & Stakeholder Manager, working for a major offshore windfarm developer.

The applicant will have:
Demonstrable experience of working in a major infrastructure project and management of Communication and Stakeholder engagement consultation, including:

•Acting as the face of the project, engaging effectively with stakeholders, including local communities, and build good working relationships with local elected representatives
•A proven ability to identify and exploit PR opportunities in line with the aims and key messages of the project
•Good awareness of the renewables agenda, wind energy, offshore wind power or/and planning system an advantage
•Good understanding of local geography, politics, customs and current issues in relation to offshore wind development and ideally the renewables sector in the east of England; or proven ability to gain this understanding quickly.
•Excellent copy writing skills, (for newsletters, press releases, website and letters)
•Highly organised
•Ideally qualified in a relevant PR or communications related discipline
•Able to engage effectively with senior project staff, and contractors
•Able to deal with challenging conversations with members of the public and elected representatives.
•Represent the project, in person, in Tendring and other areas as required.
•Be proactive and able to work alone under own initiative and as part of a team
•The ability to respond to changing priorities and demands and adopt a flexible approach to working


SCOPE OF WORKS
•Implementation and successful delivery of community engagement activities for the project, acting as key point of contact for all local and general public engagement. This includes managing and maintaining comprehensive records of all engagements.
•Developing and delivering communications action plans and programmes, ensuring key project messages are communicated and activities delivered.
•Support the Consents Manager to meet the requirements of the statutory DCO consultation process for a nationally significant energy infrastructure project
•Media and PR work – Drafting and distribution of press releases to identified target audiences, monitoring of local and national media. Liaising with the corporate social media team and alignment with clients central communications functions where needed e.g. for sign off.
•Appointing and managing external agency support as required.
•Creation and oversight of the design of all project communications materials including newsletters, stakeholder letters, briefing notes, responses to public enquiries and any new materials for project website.
•Event organisation – support, and as required lead, on the successful organisation and production of events, including press briefings, photo calls, local community open days, and public exhibitions etc. Attending events on behalf of the company as required.
•Support the delivery of Public Consultation Report summarising consultation and engagement activities. This report is a key document for the consenting process.
•Participation on industry and regional working groups, to ensure alignment between industry and project messaging and engagement, as appropriate.
•Creating and delivering a Skills Engagement Strategy, in line with the projects DCO and supply Chain Plan requirements.
•Working closely with other energy related projects in the region to align on common positions, where they will enhance the likelihood of successful DCO award.
•Creation and management of a sponsorship fund with any associated communications activities if deemed appropriate by the project.
•Support the Community Investment Manager during any community benefit package consultation/set up, including associated collateral development, publicity and stakeholder relationships as appropriate.

DELIVERABLES
Implementation and successful delivery of community engagement activities for the project. Including formal consultation, Skills and Engagement Strategies, industry groups participation and general relationship building.
