Job Objective:
The Construction Engineer to contribute and achieve project objectives. They prepare / review method statement, constructability, construction plan and procedure, to oversee the workflow and schedule, so that the project would be completed within budget and comply with agreed code and standard. They coordinate and liaise with other part of the organization and PMT members with the main goal to achieve project objectives considering project schedule and within cost budget.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare / review method statement, constructability, construction plan and procedure.
- Be familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues.
- Managing the planning and design stages of construction projects.
- Contributing technical expertise to project drawings and designs.
- To assist and liaise with project control in performing cost calculations and preparing financial projections.
- Preparing work schedules in collaboration with the project manager.
- Liaising between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Overseeing construction engineering processes.
- Performing regular tests on materials and procedures to ensure compliance with project specification.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant field such as Ocean Engineering marine engineering etc.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years experiences in the Oil and Gas Industry, preferably in offshore projects and at least 5 years’ experience in detail engineering and project execution/construction.
- Subsea Cable and other subsea international engineering codes and standards, project specifications and operating philosophies, along with subsea installation activities
- Strong technical, planning, communication, reporting and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage project team in major pipeline and subsea project environment
- Proven Experience as a discipline engineer in Construction Engineering.
Geographic Experience:
- GCC or Europe Preferred
Computer Skills:
- Fully conversant with MS Office and web applications.
- AutoCAD and other Engineering software: Primavera, StaadPro, Mathcad, etc.
Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
- Strong Knowledge of Construction Industry regulation or project specification
- Good understanding of subsea cable product, code and standard: ISO, API, NORSOK, DNV, etc.
- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO 9001
- Advance proficiency in construction management software, such as BuildSmart and Smartsheet.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of project management practices.
