The Cost Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of financial tasks to help our client make sound business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial data analysis and cost accounting.
Key Responsibilities:

Gathering and Analyzing Financial Data: You will be responsible for collecting financial data and conducting comprehensive analyses to identify trends and potential areas of improvement.

Determining Standard Costs and Investigating Variances: You will establish standard costs and compare them with actual costs, investigating and explaining any variances that occur.

Preparing Detailed Reports: You will prepare detailed financial reports on a regular basis and as needed for special projects or requests.

Assisting Management in Decision Making: You will provide cost and benefit analyses to assist management in making critical decisions, such as investments, market growth strategies, and pricing changes.

Budget Creation and Management: You will create and manage budgets, closely monitoring spending to ensure alignment with financial objectives.

Conducting Financial Audits: You will conduct audits on financial processes and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

Monitoring Changes in Processes or Methods: You will monitor changes in business processes or production methods to calculate their effects on overall costs.

Estimating Product Costs: You will estimate the costs of existing and new products to inform pricing strategies and profitability analyses.

Forecasting and Analyzing Costs: You will forecast and analyze costs of processes, labor, and inventory to inform budgeting and financial planning.

Suggesting Cost-Reducing or Profitable Solutions: You will identify opportunities for cost reductions or profit enhancements and make appropriate recommendations.

Conducting Market Research: You will conduct market research to inform future business planning and strategy development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases, and programming.
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
