Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve course curriculum to ensure employees/new hires complete training and acquire certification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR) and other industry related rules and policies.
- Provide supervision to coaches and trainees in the training department.
- Conduct training and coaching for employees/new hires for job advancement
- Prepare, evaluate, and deliver educational programs for employees
- Collaborate and assess training needs with the Operations team and evaluate learning outcomes
- Responsible for ordering and recommending training materials and equipment
- Organize and coordinate in-house training, job simulations, role-playing exercises etc.
- Ensure new hires attend mandatory HSE trainings
- Perform other duties as required
- Training or certification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules
- 5+ years of rail industry experience
- Experience in training or educating adults
- Working knowledge or training in railway “Track Inspection Guidelines” or equivalent
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites especially Excel
- Prior working experience in assessing training/instructional materials and identifying training needs
- Sounds knowledge of railway HSE regulations, practice and procedures
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, leadership, and customer relations skills
- Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License
- Proficiency in other learning management tools is an asset
