This position serves as a Field Material Manager on medium to large-sized EPC projects, or as a Field Procurement Manager on medium to large-sized projects. Either position has key responsibilities for critical supplier negotiations. It requires strategic thinking and action, considering all available facts and data, as well as considering alternative courses of action, resources, constraints, and company values.

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Basic Job Requirements:
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten
    (10) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fourteen (14) years, if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, engineering, subordinates, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Job related technical knowledge and competent with all material management and procurement software tools necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to details and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. An individual that is self-motivated and will go above and beyond to resolve all material deliverables, allocation, receiving and procurement issues to help progress the construction activities.
Other Job Requirements:
  • Manage job site material functions including Warehousing, preservation of materials and equipment, field purchasing and expediting, material planning and control including allocation of materials depending on urgency, criticality and availability.
  • Ability to direct and control the handling of hazardous and toxic materials, outbound shipments, construction equipment control, consumable material control and dispositioning of surplus and scrap.
  • Develop a well-defined and integrated Site Material Management Plan in support of construction inclusive but not limited to the following:
    1. What is the best and most effective strategy to ensure materials and equipment will be available on time for Construction to progress with execution.
    2. Establish field materials manpower requirements and schedule in organizational chart format.
    3. Develop a Master Storage Plan considering supplier’s/manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure warranty requirements.
    4. Provide technical and administrative direction related to company and project policies and procedures.
    5. Perform periodic reviews and audits of project Material Management execution.
    6. Implement, manage, and monitor the Material Management Work Process to meet project and construction requirements.
  • Advocate the use of the Material Management portals, Software tools and Knowledge On-Line communities.
  • Knowledge of MatMan is preferred.
  • Maintain effective client relationships through excellent service execution and professionalism.
  • Analyze situations, forecast problems to management, evaluate options, and implement appropriate actions.
  • Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and global standards, supporting health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Is accommodating when the need arises for travel, in order to attend to project related business matters.
  • Available, as required, to provide assistance with out-of-scope duties that will assist with progressing the project.
