Under Working Supervision this position reports to the Site Manager. This position supervises craft personnel within a discipline and/or function on a project or maintenance site. The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include direct supervision of craft personnel, effective planning/scheduling and coordinating work.
- assisting in cost control, and ensuring work is perform consistent with health, safety & environmental requirements, and quality standards.
- Manage crew productivity, monitoring daily/week work hours, tracking crew attendance.
- Facilitate hiring, training, and mentoring employees, making assignments consistent with capabilities of crew members.
- Provide the needed materials, equipment, and subcontracted resources to meet project schedule. Maintain good working relationships with subcontractors.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is provided, including the necessary training for the safe use of tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and works plans as provided in assigned projects.
Typical Minimum Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- A combination of education and directly related craft experience equal to two (2) years.
- Ability to read prints.
Working Conditions
- Generally favorable indoor office workspace, with facilities/manufacturing environment.
- Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
