TRS Craft Services is looking to hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic for client in Harrison, OH.  As a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic, you will inspect, repair, trouble shoot, perform maintenance and assembly of heavy equipment including cranes, hoists, and derricks.  Local and at times extensive overnight travel is required, as a key member of our field service team.  We are looking for a self-starter that displays a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality workmanship.  Based on our small team environment dependability is critical, including the ability to work overtime when needed.  This is a day shift position.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Inspects, repairs, trouble shoots, perform maintenance and assembly of heavy equipment to include friction and hydraulic cranes & winches and hydraulic power units
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders/parts orders
  • Maintain an orderly work area
  • Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
  • Adhere to and support client’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills relative to the job
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:  High School diploma or GED; Technical school credentials preferred  
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in repairing heavy equipment
  • Strong analytical skills, able to understand equipment manuals and blueprints
  • Ability to weld and a background in hydraulics, pneumatics,
  • Electrical diagnostics to include AC/DC electric
  • Rigging experience would be a plus 
  • Expertise in other construction equipment- aerial lifts (gas, electric & diesel), skid loaders, mobile cranes, rough terrain, forklifts, excavators, light towers, air compressors, generators, etc. is helpful.  
  • Requires a professional and customer service demeanor always be displayed 
  • Able to overnight travel 60% of the time 
  • A valid driver’s license, good driving record 
  • Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, being on your feet for extended amounts of time and at times working in inclement weather are needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking, while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Requires a professional and customer service demeanor always be displayed
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be able to work with little direction
  • The selected candidate must supply own repair tools, bench or larger tools/equipment supplied
  • As the workload dictates, some overtime (including weekends) will be required
