The HSE Engineer is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of the project. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental risks.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs and make necessary adjustments.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide HSE training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE activities, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to HSE.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in HSE (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
- Experience with HSE management in the construction or offshore industry.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, preferably in offshore projects.
- GCC or Europe Preferred
- Proven experience in HSE management, preferably in an Offshore project-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of Offshore HSE regulations and standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
