Lead Mechanical Engineer

Overview
Improving the carbon footprint within the maritime industry is a passion project of our client and they’re actively working on this through the refurbishment of existing vehicles and building new ones to be more fuel efficient. Would you like to be a part of this movement?

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer who ideally has experience in maritime construction to join the client’s project team. In this role, you would be relied upon to propose innovative solutions and improve the workflow of current operations.

Responsibilities:

• Work with multidisciplinary teams in design, basic, detailed and production stages
• Prepare technical specifications and drawing for systems and equipment
• Evaluate load balance systems on existing vessels
• Provide support in the approval process with relevant authorities
• Coordinate subcontractors as necessary

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in maritime construction (ideally ship building)
• Degree in Maritime engineering or similar
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino and Nupas-Cadmatic
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch (preferred) and English (mandatory)
