Lead Planner

Location: Middle East

Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Planner to join our team for an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing mega projects within the energy sector, particularly in the Middle East. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional planning and organizational skills to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate planning.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project status, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize advanced planning tools and software to optimize project schedules and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in project planning and execution.
  • Lead planning meetings and workshops, fostering collaboration and effective communication among team members.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning, with at least 5 years in a lead planning role on mega projects in the energy sector.
  • Proven experience in EPC projects, specifically within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Middle East experience is essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
