Mechanical Estimation Lead

Job Title: Lead - Mechanical Estimation

Level: Senior Manager / Manager

Function: Tendering & Estimation

Location: Mumbai, India

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Estimation: Conduct detailed mechanical estimation for large industrial projects including steel plants, refineries, and pipelines.
• Tender Evaluation: Evaluate project scope, list activities, and study specifications/requirements.
• Technical Proposal Preparation: Prepare RFQs, clarify queries with clients/consultants, and assist in the preparation of technical proposals including project execution plans, schedules, and resource deployment.
• Estimation Activities: Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes, carry out detailed estimation activities, and prepare mechanical costing sheets with back-ups.
• Commercial Proposal: Assist in cash flow preparation and coordinate with support functions/divisions for comprehensive proposal preparation.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical estimation and cost factors.
• Proficiency in mechanical engineering codes and standards.
• Expertise in crane load charts and lifting diagrams for heavy lifts.
• Advanced skills in Primavera scheduling.
• Strong techno-commercial acumen.

Behavioral Skills:

• Leadership and team management.
• Strong customer focus and negotiation skills.
• Excellent commercial acumen and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Certification in Primavera Scheduling.

Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in project estimation, both in India and overseas.
