Mechanical Services Design Engineer

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Services Design Engineer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This position comes with a great opportunity to work on medium to large sized projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC and dust control systems, including schematics and flow diagrams.
• Develop and review specifications for HVAC and dust control equipment.
• Follow industry codes, standards, and internal procedures.
• Prepare and evaluate technical bids, purchase orders, and vendor drawings.
• Implement cost-effective project solutions using competitive execution techniques.
• Perform calculations for heating/cooling loads, air flows, and equipment capacities.
• Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Provide independent recommendations on system concepts and equipment selection.
• Create HVAC and dust control layouts and guide drafting designers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Hold a four-year accredited degree or its international equivalent in an engineering field, coupled with six years of relevant professional experience. 
• Professional certification or registration in the relevant field may be necessary. Additional qualifications may be required based on local regulations.
• Essential technical knowledge required to perform job duties.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups, including management, team members, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
• Ability to understand and adhere to local, state/provincial, and federal/national laws and guidelines.
