To assist Superintendent for all Mechanical Systems related work for new build rigs. To be involved in creating work packs and planning of daily works and interfacing with all departments for completion of works. To assist in all Mechanical equipment installation and completion onboard. To ensure projects are completed safely, on time.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the progress of Mechanical systems and construction activities to ensure systems are properly constructed and installed to the approved design and specifications.
- To plan ROS dates for all equipment based on project timeline and schedule. Responsible for the delivery of Equipment in compliance with system specifications.
- Coordinate installation of equipment and to follow through with Mechanical Completion for smooth handover for Commissioning activities.
- Ensure that works within his discipline adhere strictly to the latest approved construction project drawings, ITP’s, procedures, and site instructions.
- To establish manpower as per project schedule requirements and to plan for all equipment and facilities required to execute works.
- Assist in each phase of the project term from design to completion in accordance with project specifications and efficient use of resources.
- To liaise with client’s representatives and subcontractors on all project issues to ensure safe and efficient delivery of project.
- To coordinate with other departments for complex lifting of equipment, to be responsible for the safe landing asper site conditions.
- Prioritize field execution sequence and resources when conflicts arise.
- To plan for preservation of equipment upon installation onsite to delivery.
- Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule.
- Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
- Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problem solving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with 'Plan B' for any unexpected issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Certification in the related field (is a plus)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
- At least 9-12 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in rig building.
- Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
