• To involve & provide input for the build strategy during initial stages of the project in close coordination with production Engineers & Engineering department.
• Ensure and understanding in detail of fabrication, assembly, erection and layout drawings for Spudcan.
• Construction sequence to maintain stringent dimensional controls for effective and smooth interfacing with critical components.
• To conceptualize sub assembly build methods prior to main assembly to improvise build method and manhours.
• To plan installation of systems on Spudcan.
• Plan the material requirements and coordinate with the project procurement team.
• Check and maintain the integrity of construction tools and equipment and arrange services as required.
• Have weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required
• Manage the structural construction team to ensure there is a consistent focus on a high level of detailed scope understanding and early issue identification, tracking and mitigation.
• Ensure day-to-day running of the project is functioning in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
• Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. .
• Should possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
• Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problem solving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker
• Fully responsible for delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands.
Education:
• Technical Engineering Qualification. (Diploma or equivalent)
• Bachelor Engineering Degree (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
Experience:
• For bachelor’s degree holder, at least 9-15 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in offshore activities and/or rig building.
• Diploma holders must have at least 15 years of experience in the same industry and related experience.
• Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
