The Nightshift Manager will oversee all mechanical and piping activities during the night shift at a steel plant construction project in Boden, Sweden. Working on behalf of the main EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor, the Nightshift Manager will ensure that all night shift activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee and manage all mechanical and piping activities during the night shift, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to determine project needs and ensure smooth execution of night shift tasks.
- Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets the required standards and specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that the construction site complies with all health and safety regulations during the night shift.
- Resource Management: Manage the procurement and allocation of materials, equipment, and labor for night shift activities.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring that night shift activities are completed within the allocated budget.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting any issues or delays and proposing solutions.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues or emergencies related to mechanical and piping activities during the night shift.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all night shift activities, including daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory role on construction projects, specifically in mechanical and piping.
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in project management software.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction safety and project management are preferred.
- Language: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires working on-site at the construction location in Boden, Sweden.
- The role involves working night shifts and may involve working in various weather conditions, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
