Our client, one of the world’s largest EPC’s, is seeking an Engineering Technician I or II to join their team in Southwest Houston. This is a long-term contract role with the opportunity to become permanent. Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed.

Summary:
This position assists and supports others in a department, subdivision, function, or project. The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.
Scope:
The purpose of this position is to perform the role of an engineering technician on a medium-sized, moderately complex and diverse task force. This requires knowledge of the piping discipline.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate file transfers with Global Execution Center
- Scan, file, update, and issue the line list and tie in list.Route isometrics for issue
- Issue isometrics and track isometric schedule.
- Control electronic isometric files
- Prepare and distribute Job Books and Drafting Room Instructions (DRI) books.
- Perform engineering assignments to including but not limited to space planning, mobilizations, action items, producing data sheets, and drafting engineering specifications and standards.
- Interface with other discipline technicians to provide complete engineering support.
- Develop procedure to track status on engineering progress in Piping discipline.
- Generate and process forms for the distribution of electronic engineering documents.
- Establish and apply documentation standards for Flow Diagram Change Notices (FDCN) workflow procedures.
- Develop logs to track project deviations.
- Assist with progress reporting and preparation of weekly and monthly status reports.
- Maintain engineering project files in accordance with the Project File Index and Retention Schedule
- Support meeting coordination for model reviews and vendor presentations
- Track and monitor material key quantities.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Isometric Coordination Experience
- Experience working with databases.
- Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel and SharePoint Experience.
- Good organization skills
Education, Experience and Skills:
- A combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
