Piping Materials Engineer

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Piping Materials Engineer to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This position comes with a great opportunity to work on medium to large sized projects.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical evaluations of bids for piping and valve components.
• Offer engineering expertise for materials used in pressure piping systems.
• Review vendor drawings for piping and valve systems.
• Deliver technical advice and support during the design and construction phases of projects.
• Develop engineering specifications for piping, including line classifications, detailed component purchase descriptions, and fabrication guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy with 6+ years of experience.
• Expertise in ASME B31.3 Process Piping code and ASTM standards.
• Experience with Smartplant 3D and material management systems is a plus.
• Professional registration in British Columbia preferred.
• Practical field experience and intermediate computer skills.
• Attention to detail and time management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes, standards, and material costs.
• Ability to learn and apply relevant statutes and guidelines.
• Effective communication skills with various stakeholders.
