For our client we are looking to recruit a Project procurement Manager.

The company has been helping their customers to become more productive, energy efficient and sustainable for decades. With their operations in numerous countries, they serve customers across a wide range of industries from food and beverage to medical, energy and transportation. They supply a unique portfolio of gases, equipment and services.

They are looking for a project Procurement Manager to join their team based in Dortmund, Germany. You would be reporting to the EMEA Procurement & Contracts Director. This position manages supplier relationships to ensure alignment with project strategy and goals. This position challenges technical specifications, commercial practices, operating practices, and business processes with a focus on driving cost-effective solutions. Strong planning, project management, cost control, sourcing, communication, and negotiating skills are required.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Handle equipment and services procurement processes in assigned Capital Projects
- Oversight of Vendor purchasing as part of reimbursable scope management
- Prepare and issue inquiries, requisitions, and purchase orders according to the project schedule
- Participate in the development of Project Procurement Strategy that is aligned with overall Project Execution Strategy
- Compile and maintain Project Material Registry to plan and track equipment and material status
- Author Bid Tab evaluations and Sole Source justifications
- Run and analyze material status reports and communicate risks and problem areas to Project Procurement Manager on a regular basis
- Collaborate closely with Expeditors, Inspection Leads, and Project Logistics
- Lead timely resolution of raised supplier issues
- Manage warranty claims, back-charges, and liquidated damages
- Work with cross-functional team to manage supplier qualification status and performance

Critical Proficiencies
- Experience in issuance and leading execution of requisitions/purchase orders for material, equipment, and services
- Strong project management and planning skills
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiating skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with internal and external customers
- Strong influencing, communication, and facilitative skills
- Ability to bring teams together to resolve issues and achieve targets and goals
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing strategies and procurement work processes and solutions
- Sense of ownership and vitality

Requested
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, in Engineering or Business Management or equivalent job experience
- Experience in Procurement, Technical, Engineering, Commercial or Project environment
- Accreditation from Supply Chain industry organization (i.e. MCIPS, CPSM)
- Knowledge of commercial purchasing procedures and practice, including aspects of negotiation and contract law
- Familiar with SAP and SmartPlant
- Good command of the English language.
- German speaker is a preference
