Rapid Diagnostic Technician

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Work independently to prioritize and respond to field calls within sales and product support.
• Achieve a targeted response time of less than 1 hour through phone, Tether-it, and in-person communication.
• Prioritize high priority down machine issues as the first line of defense to minimize customer downtime.
• Collaborate directly with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction during new machine deliveries.
• Provide operator training and initial machine setup for new machine deliveries as required. 
• Conduct diagnostic work to identify and resolve machine issues quickly and efficiently.
• Repair machine issues as required.
• Assist other technicians in troubleshooting complex issues to reduce customer downtime and minimize unapplied labor.

•  High school diploma or certification or equivalent work experience. 
• 10 or more years of technical experience with Volvo heavy equipment.
• Ability to repair, troubleshoot, and service equipment in a field environment. 
• Skilled in active listening and adapting communication styles.
• Effective oral and written communication skills that can influence others.
• Customer-oriented approach, focused on service and building relationships.
• Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to changes in plans and schedules in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to use computer systems and software including Microsoft products. 

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to travel, with only the occasional overnight stay required.
• Ability to hold a DOT medical card from driving purposes.
