Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Work independently to prioritize and respond to field calls within sales and product support.
- Achieve a targeted response time of less than 1 hour through phone, Tether-it, and in-person communication.
- Prioritize high priority down machine issues as the first line of defense to minimize customer downtime.
- Collaborate directly with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction during new machine deliveries.
- Provide operator training and initial machine setup for new machine deliveries as required.
- Conduct diagnostic work to identify and resolve machine issues quickly and efficiently.
- Repair machine issues as required.
- Assist other technicians in troubleshooting complex issues to reduce customer downtime and minimize unapplied labor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or certification or equivalent work experience.
- 10 or more years of technical experience with Volvo heavy equipment.
- Ability to repair, troubleshoot, and service equipment in a field environment.
- Skilled in active listening and adapting communication styles.
- Effective oral and written communication skills that can influence others.
- Customer-oriented approach, focused on service and building relationships.
- Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to changes in plans and schedules in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to use computer systems and software including Microsoft products.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to travel, with only the occasional overnight stay required.
- Ability to hold a DOT medical card from driving purposes.
