The Senior Contracts Administrator is responsible for managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. They will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to negotiate and administer contracts, mitigate risks, and optimize contract terms. The Senior Contracts Administrator will provide expertise in contract management and act as a key point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issue resolution.
Responsibilities:
Contract Management: Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from initial review to contract execution and closeout.
Review, draft, and negotiate various types of contracts, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, confidentiality agreements, and service level agreements.
Ensure contract terms and conditions are aligned with business objectives, legal requirements, and risk tolerance.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define contract scope, deliverables, and timelines.
Maintain accurate contract records and documentation, including tracking key milestones, amendments, and renewals.
Conduct periodic contract reviews to identify risks, opportunities for improvement, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, operations, and procurement, to ensure alignment on contract terms, pricing, and deliverables.
Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract-related matters, including interpretation of terms, obligations, and potential risks.
Foster strong relationships with external parties, such as vendors, customers, and legal representatives, to enhance contract negotiations and maintain positive business partnerships.
Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Identify and assess contract-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
Monitor contract performance and address any non-compliance issues or breaches promptly.
Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting contract management practices.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve contract management processes, templates, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Develop and implement best practices for contract administration, standardization, and optimization.
Provide training and guidance to junior contract administrators on contract management processes and practices.
Requirements:
Education and Experience: bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field. JD or paralegal certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration, preferably in a senior or lead role.
Strong knowledge of contract law, legal terminology, and contract drafting and negotiation.
Contract Management Skills: Proficient in managing complex contracts and negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate contract-related risks.
Experience in administering contracts throughout their lifecycle, including amendments, extensions, and terminations.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to review and interpret contractual language, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
Ability to think critically and strategically in contract negotiations and issue resolution.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to convey complex contractual concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Attention to Detail and Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and drafting contracts.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
Technology Proficiency: Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with contract management systems or tools is preferred.
