TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Lead, Environment Construction Specialist to join our client’s team. This role involves providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to manage environmental and regulatory risks during water treatment facility construction. The specialist will support critical decision-making to ensure compliance and mitigate risks throughout the project.
Salary Range: $75 - $83/hour
Responsibilities
- Review daily construction reports and communicate risks to senior management.
- Follow health and safety protocols.
- Review construction documents and engineering designs.
- Develop and implement Water Management and Environmental Plans.
- Ensure safe work practices through on-site audits and inspections.
- Supervise and mentor Environmental Monitors and Professionals.
- Apply relevant permits and requirements to guide management decisions.
- Provide technical guidance to manage environmental impacts.
- Deliver environmental training to project teams.
- Draft and oversee Construction Environmental Management Plans.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or possess a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Have a minimum of seven years of experience in an environmental position, with expertise in construction management.
- Proficient in auditing and preparing Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) plans.
- Certification in Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) is beneficial (e.g., CPESC, CISEC, CESCL).
- Experience with large-scale projects (e.g., BC EAO-certified) and familiarity with provincial (WSA) and federal (DFO) permitting processes is advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with federal and provincial regulations and compliance practices concerning water quality, water management, and resource development.
- Eligible for or currently holding professional registration in BC (e.g., R.P.Bio., P.Geo., P.Ag., or P.Eng.).
