Role: Senior Planner
Salary: £80-90k Negotiable depending on experience
Location: Manchester (3/4 days on site)

Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Planner for a project based in Manchester, on site 3/4 days.
About the role
We urgently require a Planner to be based in Manchester. The successful candidate will play a vital role in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the progress of this innovative project, which focuses on reducing renewable energy waste and providing clean, reliable, and cost-efficient long-duration energy storage.
You will be practised in delivering a full planning function for all phases of the project including engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up activities for large scale engineering construction projects. Proficient with Primavera (P6) software and working at a detailed level, able to work with a project team and contractors to validate and challenge construction schedules to determine the most efficient project timeline.
Key Responsibilities
Input into developing project control planning and progress measurement procedures
Build and maintain project schedules (level 1-4) using WBS coding and logic.
Integrate schedules from contractors and vendors involved in the construction and commissioning.
Establish and agree the baseline resourced schedule to establish site staffing profiles.
Work with construction teams and contractors to provide construction sequencing to reduce any constraints.
Update schedules with actual progress and forecast timelines to highlight variances to the project team.
Timely reporting of critical paths and risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure the project remains on schedule.
Determine and agree the progress measurement system for engineering, procurement, and construction.
Collaborate with Project Management, Lead Engineers to discuss schedules and act as an advisor to the team regarding planning.
Provide input into the progress reports and updates to stakeholders, highlighting achievements and addressing potential planning concerns.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management or related field
Proven experience as a project planner, within the energy industry, with some experience based at site.
Proficient in project scheduling software, Primavera P6.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
