Summary:
Our client has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Project Manager supporting their long-term projects in Japan.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a Hard Bid, Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build project, as well as mentoring multiple Project Managers and Engineers.
Job Duties:
- Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities.
- Produce all elements of project execution plan and implement.
- Provide jobsite leadership in the area of safety and quality.
- Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
- Understand and act on industry trends, local market and economic conditions, and the business model to make decisions and create competitive advantage.
- Take a broad, global perspective when considering proactive solutions to long-term opportunities and risks that might develop in the future.
- Demonstrate the capacity to recognize feelings and patterns of behavior and those of others. Manage emotions effectively in ourselves and our relationships.
- Determine priorities and delegate work; monitor and communicate progress. Establish measures to assess the impact, quality and timeliness of results; praise success and learn from mistakes.
- Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities. Plan for and support the development of individual skills and abilities.
- BS OR MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 10-15 years in the lead role on Hard Bid GC projects valued at $20-100 million or larger; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ground up construction experience and/or government projects for US Department of Defense within Japan, preferably in the following locations: Okinawa, Yokosuka, Yokota, or Camp Zama.
- Desired experience in housing, schools, hangars, administrative buildings, and medical clinics projects ranging from 30-100 M USD.
- Previous OCONUS work experience is preferred.
- Experience working for Federal Government preferred.
- Knowledge of Procore (Minutes, submittal review, document control, PM features)
- Able to work in CMIC (cost control platform)
- Knowledge of P6 (scheduling)
