Interim role for a period of 3 years
Job Objective:
You want to be part of a global world-class purchase organization. You like to develop as a procurement leader. You are the subject matter expert on capex procurement. You like to think strategically and can convert these strategic plans into actions. You deliver on Procurement Processes and Goals and Objectives for the global procurement team. It is anticipated this assignment is for a duration until Q2 2025.
Accountabilities:
• You lead the EU Capex procurement activities from the overall procurement strategy development through the purchase process for specific projects in the Netherlands
• You support other indirect spend as needed developing global major contracts where applicable.
• You drive procurement productivity globally achieving competitive pricing and terms improvement.
• You ensure continuous supply of indirect goods and services while reducing costs through synergies, leveraging economies of scale, and maintaining the necessary levels of quality and service.
• You build strong value-added relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• You support project managers in project procurement execution
• You interface at all levels throughout the company from the CEO to the plant maintenance technicians developing good working relationships and ensuring required service level are met.
Key Relationships:
Internal:
Procurement Associates, Site and Corporate Engineers and Project Managers, Maintenance, Site Management, EHS, Operations, Business Managers, Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Procure to Pay, Internal Audit.
External:
Multiple Suppliers, (Engineering and Construction contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants, etc.) Legal Support, Trade Associations.
Knowledge / Education / Skills / Qualifications:
• You successfully completed a Bachelors/Master’s degree from a Technical University (preferably Chemical or Mechanical)
• You have 10 years relevant experience including operations management, procurement, engineering, manufacturing. Should include minimum 5 years of experience in capital expenditure projects in a manufacturing environment and negotiating capital expenditure contracts
• You have a deep understanding of project management and processes and recognition of technical/EHS boundaries.
• You are business savvy and have a natural sense of urgency
• You have strong negotiations experience preferably within an international business environment.
Required additional skills:
• Fluent in Dutch and English (both oral and written) and preferably German
Mobility requirements:
• Willing to travel within Europe (max 15%)
