Sr Cost Estimator

For our client, active in the offshore oil&gas business, we are looking to recruit a (Sr) Cost Estimator (secondment to staff).

The job:
General for Cost Estimator:  
- Develop the Estimate Execution Plan and obtain approval from SH and TM.
- Develop the estimate in the estimating tool in accordance with the agreed timing.
- Verify, update and justify (commodity) pricing where required.
- Liaise with Procurement and Contracts to obtain market pricing and remeasure the bids if required (Include final quantities).
- Ensure checks and balances are carried out prior to delivery to TM. This includes the preparation / review of the Project Benchmark sheet.
- Provide the agreed deliverables as stated in the estimate execution plan.
- Develop the Basis of Estimate and obtain approval / consent from SH and TM.
- Update the overall Estimating schedule on a regular basis.
- Maintain Pricing models and periodically update Knowledgebase pricing
- Maintain Benchmark database, using (actual) project cost data
- Normalises and prepares (actual) project cost data for addition to the benchmark database.

Specific for Senior Cost Estimator:
- Able to lead an estimating taskforce for complex or large projects/tenders.
- Perform peer review (discipline check) on cost estimates
- Participate in Constructability reviews and other Strategy meetings if required.
- Participate in (qualitative) Risk assessments and advises on prudent contingency if required.
- Is able to discuss/defend the outcome with both (senior) management and client.

Requested:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the estimating profession in the oil and gas industry or EPC industry
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Technical education
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge and skills of Cleopatra or other dedicated cost estimating software
- Strong skills with regards to data mining/management (Excel, Access, Power BI etc)
- Strong communication skills
- Currently living and working in The Netherlands.
