Key Responsibilities:
- Develop designs for power distribution systems, lighting, and controls, focusing on cleanrooms and advanced laboratories.
- Work on campus or site power sizing and distribution.
- Design cleanroom and laboratory electrical power systems.
- Handle lighting and controls, EMI analysis, and Tel/Data systems.
- Use software like SKM, Revit, and Visual Lighting Studio.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare design schematics.
- Collaborate with CAD/REVIT teams on drawings and BIM models.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Manage budgets and cost estimates.
- Provide construction administration and troubleshooting support.
- Engage in user or technical group discussions to assess power needs.
- Travel as required.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of progressive electrical engineering and leadership experience.
- Experience leading technical teams and developing staff capabilities.
- Proficiency in electrical analysis and design software (e.g., SKM, Revit, AutoCAD MEP).
- Knowledge of sub-station and building switchgear design.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with NFPA/NEC standards and IEEE/IES/API standards.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Licensed Professional Engineer or EIT with a goal of obtaining a PE license.
- 7-10 years of experience managing electrical projects and technical staff.
- Knowledge of California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
- Experience in designing cleanrooms and labs.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and/or internationally.
- Experience with Arc Flash studies and EMI abatement.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
- Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is a plus.
