Our client provides comprehensive solutions, including the conversion of oil and biomass into cleaner fuels, the production and purification of major petrochemical intermediates, chemical recycling of plastics, natural gas treatment, and carbon capture. Their portfolio encompasses cutting-edge technologies, equipment, furnaces, modular units, catalysts, adsorbents, and related services.

As a Supply Chain Manager within the Supply Chain Department, you will contribute to basic engineering projects and modular unit development for our valued customers. Here are the key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for and plans, organizes and manages the procurement process for all projects.
  • Create and implement regional procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within the industry.
  • Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Ability to fit purchase into project ecosystem besides maintaining supply chain costs versus the available and allocated project budget.
  • Managing diverse procurement activities which should essentially be aligned with design engineering.
  • RFQs/MRs for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Piping items as a minimum.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with direct reports, senior management, vendors, other support groups and project team members.
  • Review of all purchase orders and contracts.
  • Ensuring accuracy and adequacy of purchasing/contracts negotiation and supply chain administration activities.
  • Fulfilment of various supply chain requirements relating to project performance.
  • Timeliness, accuracy and adequacy of problem identification, status reporting and corrective & mitigating actions.
  • Negotiation of T&C, Prices and vendor management.
  • Coordination with post order expediting and project management teams during project execution to maintain on-time material delivery and supply.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with critical suppliers.
  • Prepare & circulate weekly and monthly procurement reports as applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of changing industry trends.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
  • Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
  • Perform risk management for supply POs and agreements.
  • Responsible for preparing contract documents for work or service orders for site related work or services.
  • Hands on experience with requisite clauses applicable for site works and contracts.
Functional Competencies:
  • Candidate should have handled EPC/LSTK Purchase Orders/Contracts and Services.
  • Responsible for end-to-end Project Procurement, PO closure & supplier reconciliation activity.
  • To have proper analysis/assessment of requirement considering Project/Opex/Capex scenarios. To have discussion with concerned project/user department/engineering colleagues to have clarity and understanding of the requisition.
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments/stakeholders and to communicate/highlight any supply problems and/or potential hurdles or bottleneck situations which may impact the project operations/schedule.
  • Meticulously prepare & compile comparative statements and negotiate contracts, improve buying prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practices, tools and methods.
  • Thorough knowledge of PO and contractual terms & conditions.
  • Candidate should possess procurement skills and knowledge about commodities such as structural steel, Stainless steel etc.
  • Obtain and share market intelligence for commodities and crucial strategic buy out items.
  • Initiate project specific supplier qualifications for new suppliers in collaboration with Purchasing Category Manager.
  • Candidate should have strong procurement management skills, understanding and experience in creating and conducting RFQs; must be able to negotiate supply POs, fabrication contracts, framework agreements and price negotiations utilizing various types of advanced negotiation concepts.
  • Analytical Skills – must be able to handle large amounts of data, perform detailed analysis, be able to create and understand formulas & pivot tables, piece data from multiple sources, make decisions with scant data, and perform within Microsoft Excel. Must also be able to track savings and be able to explain calculations, in detail, for any audit requirements
  • Conduct periodic project reviews, understand the challenges faced by the team, be solution oriented, be appreciative of the teams. Display and live the “Open door” policy for all levels across the project teams



Knowledge and Required Level:

  • Candidate with minimum 12 to 14 years’ experience post qualification. 7 to 10 years of experience in Engineering Project Procurement, Supply Chain and Subcontract/Site work orders and contract drafting activities.
  • Preferably should have worked in EPC/LSTK Company from Oil & Gas industry with turnover between INR 200 Cr & INR 500 Cr
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology; Preferably from Mechanical/Production/Industrial or Instrumentation/Electrical stream. MBA or PGD in Supply Chain or Materials Management will be an added advantage.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SAP and/or any other relevant purchasing ERP tool.
