Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and support for projects and staff, including reviewing calculations and analyses, and conducting technical analyses as needed.
- Oversee various tailings and water embankment dam projects, including:
- Field investigation coordination
- Laboratory test coordination and interpretation
- Participate in fieldwork as needed to meet project goals and client expectations.
- Assist with project coordination, cost estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, client and progress reports, project scheduling, and ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Scope projects and help prepare proposals.
- Contribute to the management of a leading geotechnical tailings testing facility.
- Participate in fieldwork as needed to meet project goals and client expectations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering.
- At least 8 years of relevant post-degree experience in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering, preferably in a consulting or mining environment. Canadian experience is highly preferred.
- Professional Engineer registration with APEGA and/or EGBC, or eligibility for registration.
- Strong analytical skills in soil mechanics and tailings behavior, including slope stability, seepage, settlement, and deformation.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Class 5 Driver’s license.
- Comfortable driving mid to full-sized pickup trucks in various environments.
