CNC Machinist -
1st shift 6a - 430p $22/HR
2nd Shift 4p - 2am $23/HR




SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for precision CNC Machine programming, set-up, and first piece runs for lathes, mills, and multi-axis Computerized Numerically Controlled equipment for production and prototype parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate basic manual and CNC shop equipment and tools safely and skillfully
• Perform machining operations on all types of materials (e.g., ferrous, nonferrous metals, and alloys, etc.)
• Meet and sustain established quality and production volume performance criteria
• Work to job batch parts list, prints, drawings, specifications, and procedures to produce parts
• Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of industry, equipment, and techniques related to role

SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:
With supervision:
Equipment Preparation, Set-Up, & Maintenance
• Set up and/or break down basic equipment, fixtures, and tooling
• Utilize pressure-regulated air hoses; Deburr parts and edges to drawing specifications and shop standards
• Use saws, sanders, grinders, and other equipment to prepare and produce rough parts
• Perform routine maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment (i.e., chip barrels, etc.)
CNC Machining and Production
• Use CNC equipment to manufacture simple and complex parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, and coordinate and exacting tolerances
• Operate a variety of CNC machines including but not limited to lathes, mills, and multi-axis work centers
• Produce parts within required tolerances according to prints, designs, and specs
• Receive, check, and verify sub parts needed for work orders; assist in solving discrepancies
• Select appropriate cutting tools to maximize efficiency and ensure quality of product
• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Maintain accurate dimensional tolerances based upon work instructions
• Voucher time accurately for daily work and neatly complete production forms as required
• Rework and calibrate production parts and machine tooling as required; continuously check for accuracy
Quality Assurance
• Promote, guide, and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations
• Produce, prepare, and provide part to Quality for First Piece Inspection
• Inspect part characteristics at in-process and final check points as required by specifications
• Prepare parts with a focus on uniformity, quality, and workmanship
• Ensure all required documentation is completed at each stage of production

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction
• Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment in work area
• Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized
• Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
• Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers
• Willingly performs other duties as trained and able


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Must have a minimum of 4-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a CNC Machinist role

Must have:
Ability to work independently; to make good, sound, and timely decisions & exercise proper judgment and discretion
Ability to understand, track, organize, and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects

Ability to handle and process information in a timely and confidential manner
Ability to sustain high energy and enthusiasm with the appropriate level of urgency as needed
Ability to read, interpret, and understand all drawings, routers, and process specifications
Ability to meet production and quality performance metrics regularly and consistently
Ability to learn and accurately use company computer software programs as related to role
Ability to work independently while making good, sound, and timely decisions
Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc.
Proficient writing and speaking skills with ability to communicate professionally, objectively, and effectively
Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak in English and be understood; able to follow instructions
Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, printouts, screens, etc.
Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties
Ability to uphold and comply with the company Mission, Safety and Quality Policies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job
Must be able to sit/stand continuously on a daily basis
Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort
Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine operation of equipment
Physical activity: Sitting, walking, standing, typing, holding, grasping, etc. approximately 75% of time
Bending, reaching outwards and above shoulders, and lifting twenty pounds unassisted approximately 25% of time

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job activities are generally performed in a lighted, temperature-controlled, and well-ventilated factory environment.
One will be exposed to changes in ambient temperature, noise, and dust without abnormal hazards or risks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
