Construction Material Technician
Summary:
Responsible to conduct field or laboratory testing, sampling or inspection services.
Responsibilities:
Employee shall have the following minimum duties and responsibilities:
• Contact dispatcher/coordinator for priorities and deadlines both in the field and laboratory.
• Meet with contractor's supervisors, architect's representatives or other project leaders on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.
• Insure the safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all nuclear gauges.
• Update supervisor and dispatcher on progress and delays on every project.
• Insure safe usage and maintenance of individually assigned company vehicle and field equipment.
• Meet established project deadlines.
• Submit accurate and complete inspection reports on a daily basis.
• Understand, adhere and participate in the clients Health and Safety and Behavior Based Safety Programs and set a good safety example.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Qualifications:
Employee shall possess the following minimum qualifications:
• Level 1A certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• High school or GED certification.
• Shall possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet Company’s auto insurability requirements.
• Math skills to analyze sample results.
• Verbal and written skills to communicate problems, status of work, daily reports, etc.
• Utilize hand tools such as sledge hammers, shovels and picks.
• Ability to work on equipment.
• Ability to read and understand instruction, labels, reports, etc.
• Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges.
• Present a professional appearance to best represent the company.
• Ability to drive company vehicle, manage and complete all assigned jobs, efficiently and on time.
• Ability to comply with all attendance and tardy requirements as per company policy.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the principal duties and responsibilities of this job. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly performing work outside in all types of weather conditions.
• The employee is required to talk and hear.
• The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must frequently lift and or move 45+ pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Some jobs require climbing ladders, scaffolding or work on high elevations.
• May need to maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
• May work protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours due to client needs.
