Electrician

TRS Craft Services is hiring an Electrician for a compression company in Northwest Houston!

Purpose
Responsible for assisting with the electrical and electronic installations of equipment in the production area. Position requires minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
• Able to read and comprehend P&ID, electrical drawings, blueprints and National Electric Code requirements
• Able to follow layout for conduit or cable tray using P&IDs, GA drawings or replica unit.
• Effectively identify conduit fittings & fabricate conduit. (Experience with rigid conduit
• Requires experience using a 535 thread machine to cut and thread rigid conduit.
• Requires experience using a chicago and electric conduit bender for rigid conduit.
• Ability to perform various conduit rigid bends such as 90’, 45’s, 30’ degrees and three and four point saddles bends
• Able to fabricate aluminum, stainless steel, fiberglass and galvanized cable tray.
• Able to identify wire size from 22 AWG to 2/0 AWG.
• Requires experience pulling wire through conduit or installing cable in cable tray by hand.
• Able to identify and install analog, digital, RTD, type k, and pneumatic devices from panel to field.
• Maintain a file of installation design and techniques for new units through pictures and diagrams
• Helps with mechanical assembly as needed
• Participates in the Quality Improvement Process as required
• Participate and create a daily JHA (Job hazard analysis)
• Willing to work with other team members and follow instructions from supervisor.
• Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.
• Requires frequent operation of heavy equipment such as crane and scissor lift

Education, Skills, and Experience
• Preference will be given to a high school graduate with trade school credits
• Must have a minimum of three+ years’ experience in electrical field
• Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time
• Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time
• Requires employee to frequently inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.
• Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility
• Requires work on loud environment
• Requires moving and maintaining self constantly in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
• Position rarely requires travel
• Position rarely requires employee drive
