We currently seek a Lead Roving Technician for our client on a direct hire basis in East Texas. for a direct hire position in Texas. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the service team, responsible for commissioning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role also includes fulfilling obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) for BESS projects. The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively, with 50-70% on-site travel and 30-50% remote work. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required.
Job Requirements:
- Coordinate with Project Manager and Commissioning Manager to represent responsibilities.
- Review and coordinate commissioning schedule and forecast necessary manpower.
- Allocate contracted workers per the schedule requirements and manage their funding and onboarding.
- Train new Service Technicians to be able to commission.
- Place QR codes on product and register them in the CMMS.
- Train technicians and contractors on CMMS and proper usage.
- Represents Services as site lead for new projects and drives scheduling, safety and environmental compliance.
- Works with Field Service Supervisors to ensure effective transition to Operations.
- Responds to situations that arise during transit to include repairs and damage assessment.
- Perform training exercises in the field for Service Technicians supporting commissioning and maintenance activities.
- Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting and hands on support to maintain equipment and achieve availability and capacity guarantees.
- Develop operating procedures and processes.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Electrical Technician
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Proficient in converting technical data into technical manuals and procedures.
- Previous training and knowledge of inverters
- SCADA experience is beneficial.
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and Energy Storage
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
- Previous experience with a CMMS software program preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- First Aid Trained
