Safety Manager must have trucking industry experience. No exceptions. We’re not interested in resumes with oil & gas/crude oil experience or any other industry. Must be trucking industry.
Must have experience working with Owner operators.
Be familiar and keep up to date on DOT laws & regulations, HazMat, OSHA
Previous CDL helpful
experienced with fleet safety programs
will oversee safety management protocols for all terminals
familiar with conducting safety audits and inspections
oversee accident investigations
able to properly supervise and manage a team of 3-4 safety clerks
must ensure all safety protocols are being followed on a consistent basis
spearhead safety campaigns and programs to elevate safety awareness for truck drivers/owner operators
computer savvy a must
strong leadership, direction and motivation to safety personnel and an example for others
Maintain CSA scores below threshold
Strive to maintain the existing owner/operator base while adding as many new owner/operators as possible.
Safety Manager and his/her team are responsible for DOT files, driver training, weekly/monthly reports, recruiting for owner/operators, ensure the maintenance of parking permits, logs, driver files, unit files, insurance, leasing on process, disciplinary process, and vendor invoices, etc.

The position is Monday thru Friday for the most part, working in an office type setting; driver issues may come up that must be attended to during after work hours and/or weekend.
Light travel - to visit various office locations - but no travel plans at present.
Super strong organizational skills
We expect at least a Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or a related field.
We will accept a combination of education and 4-6 years exp in lieu of degree.
