We currently seek a high-caliber Project Controls Engineer for a direct hire basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals Based in Otay Mesa, California.
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Project Controls Engineer for a field position to support the ongoing salt marsh wetlands remediation project.
Project Controls Engineer position include:
- Implementation of Project Controls strategies and processes
- Develop and monitor the approved project budget in order to control project costs
- Monitoring project progress with respect to the approved baseline including the contract scope, cost and schedule
- Identify, record and analyze project risks and opportunities. Conduct financial analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with Project Management (including Change Management Coordinator) to compile cost data for regular cost forecasting
- Create and maintain project schedules
- Prepare monthly reports including status reports and cost reports
- Interact and build positive relationships with various stakeholders including engineers, scientists, Project Partners, Project Management and Executive Management
- Lead, coordinate, or participate in various meetings with Project Partners, Management, and other stakeholders.
- BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil construction, environmental remediation, or related field experience.
- Experience with the preparation and implementation of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to provide for the effective management of construction cost accounts.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in current, Industry Standard project management tools for cost and schedule management and reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Advanced understanding of OSHA safety rules and regulations
- Team building and training development skill set
- Contractual or commercial management would be highly desired
- Environmental engineering, wetlands remediation or related experiences would be desired
- Permit interpretation, regulatory requirements
- Aptitude and willingness to take-on Project Management challenges and increasing levels of responsibility
