Job Scope
• This position is responsible for inspecting raw materials, processes, and products according to specifications and drawings, to ensure that only conforming products are produced and shipped to internal and external customers.
2.0 DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
• Reads and interprets technical specifications, customer requirements, engineering drawings, directives, and work instructions as applicable.
• Performs or Oversees First-Article (Hot & Cold) visual and dimensional inspection on of forgings and/or machined products to ensure compliance with requirements, using blueprints, drawings, specifications, and prior knowledge to evaluate potential deficiencies present in systems, processes, or materials.
• Performs (Receiving, In-Process, Final) inspection at various points during the manufacturing process to verify dimensions and prevent/reduce rework and scrap.
• Documents all inspection activities on Work Orders
• Creates inspection reports on appropriate forms.
• Prepares customer required inspection documentation.
• Reports nonconforming product and create NCRs as applicable.
• Suggests possible corrections to processes or equipment to prevent recurring problems.
• Maintains an adequate and appropriate inventory of inspection equipment and provides suitable storage and security.
• Maintains good order and housekeeping in all areas relating to the quality inspection activities.
Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience.
• Experience in Dimensional and Visual Inspection
• Previous experience with forging/machining environment is preferred.
