About the Project:
Join our dynamic team in the construction of a cutting-edge green steel plant in Boden, Sweden. This project is a significant step towards sustainable steel production, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental responsibility.
Job Summary:
The Area Construction Manager will oversee the construction of common and secondary buildings within the green steel plant project. This role involves managing all aspects of construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and timelines. The successful candidate will work closely with the EPC contractor, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality construction outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the construction of common and secondary buildings, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all construction activities meet quality standards and project specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct safety meetings and training sessions.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with project stakeholders, including the contractors, client, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues promptly to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on industrial or large-scale projects. Experience with green or sustainable construction projects is a plus.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction management or safety (e.g., PMP, OSHA) are preferred.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
