TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for Civil Designer roles to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a long term contract position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.
Responsibilities:
- Examine drawings and vendor equipment documentation of basic to moderate complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for alignment with project requirements, and proactively resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct analysis and tabulations of bulk material take-off.
- Comply with project design criteria, industry codes and standards, as well as department practices and procedures.
- Design and create 3D models of civil work of a moderate scale to assist the Design Area Lead or Lead.
- Develop 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of a moderate level of complexity.
- Tasked with enhancing competitiveness in the global market by providing unparalleled services and technical expertise.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Holds an accredited two-year degree or diploma in civil engineering drafting and technology or an equivalent qualification
- Has intermediate skills in computer and software usage, including word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs
- Has two to five years of experience with CAD software such as Autocad or Microstation
- Has two to five years of experience in Civil CAD modelling software such as OpenRoads or Civil 3D
- Demonstrates understanding of civil site grading, cut and fill, roadway, underground utilities, and water and wastewater management systems (storm and sanitary)
- Proficient in communicating with a variety of groups including management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within time constraints
- Capable of learning and applying knowledge of relevant local, state/province, and federal/national regulations and guidelines
- Possesses the necessary technical knowledge related to the job
