This challenging position requires daily programming in many facets of component manufacturing using today’s most advanced CMM, Vision, Surface Finish, Contour and manual measurement equipment.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Work according to HSE requirements.
• In accordance with serial control plan performs all the geometric tests. Reports results with conclusion.
• Define measurement standards.
• Provide support for problem analysis including preparation of measurement results and presentation to customer
• Ensure that national or international norms related to metrology are respected and maintained.
• Distribute, file and archive all the tests reports
• Support Incoming goods inspection process where needed.
• Set up the planning of equipment calibration
• Carry out or subcontracts calibration activities
• Establish the geometric control equipment classification (1,2,3)
• Control the calibration performed
• Contribute to checking fixture development for new projects if required
• Support or conduct Measurement System Analysis (GR&R and Attribute MSA) for the Plant Measurement systems. This includes maintenance and checks on all hard gauges for the final OEM product and color measurement equipment.
• Train operators and/or supervisors on geometric equipment and specific measurement controls.
• Ensure that the statistical competence in the Plant is maintained through application of AE University modules e.g. Capability, SPC, Measure system Analysis.
• Support QRCM process in the plant
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the metrology technicians.
• Ensure that people are trained and competent in metrology. Ensure that the Training path for Metrology Technicians is applied.
COMPETENCIES:
• Technical College Qualification
• Qualified CMM / Faro Arm technician with understanding of measuring flexible parts
• Equipment maintenance and calibration
• Good planning capabilities (scheduling)
• Some Experience in dealing technically with Suppliers and / or Customers
