We are hiring a Corrosion Protection Engineer for one of our international clients, active in offshore, steel structure, industrial construction and energy transition sector:
What will you do?
You monitor the implementation of the approved coating documents by:
- Organizing specific coating procedure tests (CPT) at the start of the coating activities, together with the coating inspectors from the production site and the client's inspectors, to assess the quality level as described in the approved coating ITP.
- Monitoring the coating quality on the products at various production locations and during all production stages - i.e., ensuring that the coating meets the approved coating ITP and procedures and is carried out according to the most cost-efficient work statement.
- Ensuring that all required inspections are carried out on time.
- Ensuring that notifications of ongoing inspections are sent on time.
- Monitoring the daily logs and quality assurance documentation at the various production locations.
- You assist the responsible corrosion protection specialist by:

Comparing our standard paint procedures with the requirements in the contract with the client.
- Preparing project-specific coating documentation such as:
- Specifications for coating activities
- Procedure for coating application and inspection
- ITP for coating work and related work methods

- You solve quality-related issues by:
- Collaborating with the Quality Assurance department to review all project-related corrective action requests (CAR) and non-conformity reports (NCR) regarding coating.
- Ensuring that all project-related NCRs regarding coating are closed on time.
General tasks:
- Assisting client production locations with innovative projects related to corrosion protection.
- Performing various inspections at different locations (subcontractors and sites).
- Assisting in improving client's coating-related processes at the various production locations.
Who are we looking for?
A candidate in possession of:
- EU nationality (no work permit sponsorship available)
- EU valid driving license
With:
- Academic background: You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience: Experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Certification: You are certified as AMPP level 2 or Frosio coating inspector level II.
- Passion for steel: You have a strong interest in the world of steel.
- Flexibility: Due to the nature of our projects, you are willing to be flexible in terms of work location and hours.
- Language skills: You have an excellent level of the English language (Dutch is a plus).
- Independent and team player: You are able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Analytical skills: You have a sharp analytical mind and a practical approach.
- Administrative skills: You are accurate and skilled in creating clear reports.
- Communication skills: You communicate fluently with customer inspectors and certification bodies.
- Willingness to travel: You are willing to travel to various client's sites, both domestically and internationally
Where will you work?
Flemish Region of Belgium (flexibility of candidate for locations is needed) - With the possibility of EU business travel (site visits, ...)
