*Crane Assembly & Controls Engineer
*Harrison, OH
*$80K + DOE (To be discussed with your Recruiter)
*Overnight travel required- 20-25%
Recent engineering graduates with mechanical aptitude and/or working knowledge of equipment controls and diesel/electrical drive systems are WELCOMED!!
Immediately seeking a Crane Assembly & Controls Engineer to oversee on-site crane refurbishments, repairs, and erection activities.
Responsibilities
- Conducting site visits to assist in the consultation and preconstruction assessments of crane refurbishment, repair, and erection activities.
- Maintaining project timing, ensuring internal and customer schedule adherence.
- The supervision and/or technical support of shop and field technicians.
- Prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance always.
- Pre-work cost estimating and design assistance.
- Interdepartmental coordination with Commercial, Accounting, and Operations teams.
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining assembly best practices.
- Overseeing equipment testing, maintenance, and installations.
- Mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with contracts and other site regulations.
- Directing staff, contractors, engineers, and other on-site personnel.
- Directing meetings with clients and equipment stakeholders.
- Regular project reporting to management and clients.
- Emergency service-related travel on short notice.
- A four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering relevant to our industry or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric over air equipment controls.
- Working knowledge of diesel, and electric drive systems, including AC, DC, and VFDs.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- A flexible and customer-centric mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable with Computers, CAD Applications, and MS Office Suite
- Ability to direct multiple concurrent equipment scopes.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Comfortable working under pressure.
- Able to travel overnight 20-25% as workload/site/project demands dictate.
