An exceptional opportunity is now available for an Engineering Manager to join the EPCM team for the Ship Loader No. 2 Project at the Port of Amamapare in Papua, Indonesia. This project is spearheaded by PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), based at the engineering office in Yokohama, Japan, and involves collaboration with subcontractors from various locations, including Boise, Idaho, Germany, Jakarta, Indonesia, Singapore, New Orleans, LA, and Phoenix, AZ.
PROJECT INTRODUCTION:
Copper concentrate (Cu Conc) is currently transported through pipelines from processing facilities in the highlands using existing infrastructure, dewatered at the Port site, and stored at site in 3 x 50,000 WMT (wet metric tons) barns for a combined capacity of 150,000 WMT. The concentrate is reclaimed from the barns by front end loaders, and an existing conveyor system distributes Cu Conc to the existing Shiploader No. 1. The Project includes modifications and additions to the existing reclaim system, new transfer and shiploader feed conveyors, construction of new marine infrastructure and installation of a new Shiploader.
SCOPE:
To assist the Project Manager in the management of scope and progress of the engineering activities. All engineering activities required for the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In accordance with the Project Instructions and as approved by the Project Manager this position is responsible to accomplish the following duties:
- Participate in the development of engineering and construction execution strategies
- Participate in the development and the monitoring of the EPC schedule
- Manage the engineering deliverables list, Workflows & comment registers
- Coordinate and monitor the preparation of all technical documentation required for the execution of the project, including, but not limited to:
- Review bid documents to ensure conformance with the project scope and the technical specifications.
- Manage the bid reviews and preparation of the technical recommendations.
- To prepare a draft monthly engineering progress report for the project for incorporation into the project monthly report.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum BSc. / Beng Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10/15 years of experience with strong EPCM, Mining industry background.
- Professional Registration and membership in external technical society preferred.
- Experience working for an engineering firm as a Civil, Structural and/or Mechanical designer, technical advisor, managerial responsibilities.
- Previously worked on Trestle/Wharf & Shiploader projects.
- Experience working on international projects.
- To hold weekly engineering meetings, the minutes of which serve as weekly reports.
- Engineering office will be in Yokohama, Japan.
- This is an 8 week - 2 week rotation to/from home Country/City
- Site visits (Papua, Indonesia) minimum 2 times a year during engineering
- A possibility of relocation to site (Papua, Indonesia) 8 weeks – 3 week rotation to/from home Country/City.
