Day shift: 6am – 3pm. (Must be available as requested/required for after-hour emergency calls and necessary overtime, including weekend work.)
Pay: $18/hr
General Laborer will be refurbishing and painting heavy equipment for all company operations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Performs all prep, painting, and steam cleaning responsibilities
- Properly remove and return pieces within the equipment (pins, seats, books etc.)
- Perform all facets of preparing equipment to be painted (sanded, cleaned, taped)
- Properly scrape, prep, sand, and blast equipment, to include removal of decals and skid tapes
- Exercise knowledge of basic soaps and chemicals
- Apply masking over applicable areas
- Perform proper set-up and maintenance care of paint equipment
- Ensure correct equipment color and mixing of paint, while documenting/tracking paint usage
- Locate and size all decals
- Apply above average topcoat
- Perform final quality check
- Correct measures to remedy any deviations impairing standards of quality
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all paint processes
- Keeps tools and equipment in good working condition, requiring basic preventive maintenance inspections and corrective measures on assigned equipment (blaster, DA’s, spray guns, etc.)
- Safely operate forklift and other lifting equipment
- Works from drawings, sketches, specifications, and instruction manuals, as required
- Maintains service logs and maintenance records. Properly track parts and inventory, while providing accurate documentation (i.e., timecards and service reports)
- Organizes and completes paperwork in a timely manner.
- Performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Follows all paint related hazardous waste storage, handling, and removal guidelines
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety procedures and rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with internal/external customers
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must maintain daily and open lines of communication with management
- Completes jobs in a timely manner, maintaining maximum productivity
- Ensure all work meets quality standards
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Minimum of one year of prior equipment paint experience
- Experience in heavy equipment painting and refurbishment, preferred
- Requires general knowledge of painting/refurbishment process
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Given the fast work pace and manual labor demands, individuals must be in good physical condition
- Able to safely operate and maintain a current forklift certification
- Effective problem solving, with ability to provide workable solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and listen effectively, while interacting with people on all levels
- Excellent time management, planning and organization skills, results oriented
- Attentive to detail, along with strong follow-up skills
- High level of honesty/integrity
- Able to work independently, with little direction, self-reliant
- Must be flexible and able to change focus as priorities dictate

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED; or a combination of commensurate experience and on-the-job training.
