HSE Lead

Employment Status: Independent Contractor
Work Location: Working at multiple sites in BC
Work Schedule: 5/2 schedule - Monday to Friday with one EDO (Earned Day Off) every other Friday
Living Out Allowance and Mileage reimbursement are provided
Contract Duration: 5 months (project is in drilling phase)

Scope of Work:

• Act as a strong safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Support and coordinate the implementation of Health and Safety programs for the project.
• Lead contractor safety risk assessments prior to mobilization and throughout execution.
• Document all workplace H&S incidents, conduct investigations, and apply corrective actions when necessary.
• Coordinate and maintain relevant training for the project team to ensure compliance and safety awareness.

Qualifications:

• Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety preferred; however, previous in-field mining or construction safety experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of H&S experience in the mining or heavy construction industries.
• Basic understanding of the regulatory framework associated with local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations.
• Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office products.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with project personnel.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
