Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Location: Duncan, SC
Reports To: Director of Engineering
Status of Hire: salaried, exempt
Pay: $80-92k base plus bonus
Industry: automotive, manufacturing, assembly

SUMMARY:
The Industrial Engineer should be able to aid in the design, develop, test and evaluate systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, inventory control, logistics, and material flow. Responsible for heavy input with design, maintenance, and continuous improvement. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•             Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organizations competitive edge. 
•             Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
•             Coordinate and facilitate continuous improvement actions via action items in various systems.
•             Supports the plant in building maintenance in exchange with the landlord.
•             Supports and plans the plant with new / modified equipment.
•             Assist in the building of 5S equipment and creation of work cells to illustrate maximum efficiency.
•             Testing and review operations sequence, material flow and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
•             Participates and recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, utilities, and special projects.
•             Implement methods and procedures for defective material or damaged parts and to reduce production costs.
•             Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies.  Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the Industrial Engineer function.  This would include: IATF 16949, ISO, and
TISAX
•             Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
•             May assist with supervision of technicians. 

REQUIREMENTS:
Working knowledge of automotive manufacturing environment
Must be self-motivated and possess well-developed leadership skills
1-2 years in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related job field
Knowledge of AutoCAD or Solidworks for layouts
Knowledge of SAP and ability to use for looking up part #s, inventory, routings, part locations, writing BOMs
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology, applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment design 
Knowledge of raw materials and automotive production processes

**Must be authorized to work in the US regardless of visa transfer or sponsorship
**Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check to be eligible for hire
